Upcoming SCF Event – The UK Internal Market Act

The Scottish Competition Forum is pleased to invite you to the next event in its webinar series, taking place from 5-7pm on Tuesday 23 February. This webinar will focus on the UK Internal Market Act 2020 and its impact on the competition law and policy landscape in Scotland.

About this Event

Speakers will consider questions such as:

  • What role(s) will the Competition and Markets Authority play in the application of the new Act?
  • How will the provisions of the new Act be enforced in the courts?
  • What practical impact will the Act’s ‘market access principles’ have on competition and markets in Scotland?
  • How will the Act fit within the post-Brexit UK constitutional framework?

The speakers will be Professor Kenneth Armstrong of the University of Cambridge, Professor Aileen McHarg of the University of Durham, Sheila Scobie, Director of Nations at the Competition and Markets Authority, and trade expert Dr Harry Broadman, Managing Director of Berkeley Research Group (BRG). The webinar will be chaired Gordon Downie, Partner, Shepherd and Wedderburn LLP.
